As most of you know, one of the main reasons to choose Jönköping as a place to study was floorball. I got the opportunity to play with the local club Jönköpings IK, so here are my experiences so far:
Idrottshuset - JIK home arena.
Not really the most beautiful arena in Sweden, but it's quite cosy. Actually it's a complex of four indoor halls, club offices, shops, gym etc.. We practice there on Monday, Tuesday (running and gym), Wednesday, Thursday and sometimes Saturday, when the match is on Sunday.. My favourite day is Wednesday - a Sandwich Day, when we get a huge sandwich after the training:).
I played my first match at home against Täby, the tickets were for free, therefore we had full house - 1000 spectators and a great atmosphere. Here are some pictures from the game, taken by Vlasta and other friends.
Warming up. / Getting used to playing left forward..
Interview after the 2nd period:). / After the game with the fan club - from the left Anicka, Zuzka, Honza, Pavel, Lenka, Georgi, Tereza.

It was a strange match, we lead 4:1 after 2 periods (I scored my first Elitserien goal:)), but then Täby equalized and a penalty shot taken 4 seconds before the end of the game decided we lost
4:5.
I also have a few cool videos from the game, taken by Vlasta, I'll try to upload them somewhere else later because I have not enough space here..
For the next match we travelled to Falun - 5-hour trip with the bus to the north. Jönköping rain, +7°C, Falun snow, -8°C.
Inside the Falu Kuriren Arena.
Pre-match walk near Falun's ski jump hills.

There was no JIK fan club this time, so I have no pictures from the game. But it was far from a boring match, 6:1 lead after 1st period, 7:6 in the 3rd..
9:6 in the end and a first win after the christmas break! Victory ritual followed in the cloakroom - the whole team singing the Russian national anthem! I hope I will have a chance to practice the song already this sunday after the next match..
On the way back we stopped at a restaurant - after 14 days filled mainly with toasts, spaghetti and toasts I experienced a first taste of swedish traditional cuisine - a
Pyttipanna. Liked it.
Back to the bus after the dinner.
We arrived back to JKG around 2:00 at night, but it was like a daytime in Råslätt (our dormitories), there were still a lot of preparties, parties, afterparties and
Fikas (the only Swedish word that you need to survive here) going on, as every day.. The student life is fine!
