Stockholm trip - Day 2

Stockholm in the morning
Breakfast. / Next pictures are taken from this 'tower'.

Building. / Building (apparently and obviously national museum).

Water, boats, buildings. / Streets, buildings. (Yes I'm tired)

Vasa museum

Vasa museum is special. It's main attraction is a war ship from 17th century that sunk and was salvaged 300 years later. The museum includes several movie-screenings, exhibitions, interactive games etc.. Awesome!

Amazing details..

One of the passangers. / Miniature of the ship.

We got addicted to the game that illustrates why the ship sunk and the goal is to build a ship that survives!

After countless failures, all the effort paid off - I can expect a large reward!

Finito! (Actually we would stay longer, but we were running out of time)

Lunch
Swiss back to Swiss way of eating, while we ate our home-made sandwiches outside:).

Stockholm in the afternoon

Flowers of Sakura! They looked great, but didn't smell at all!

4D Theatre
Last attraction we went to (yeh we only visited 2) was the 4 dimensional theatre. 4 dimensions sound great, don't they? That's why we tried it.. We got funny 3D goggles, sat down in the moving chairs and the movie begun.. It was a document about flying (how birds and planes fly), it was in Swedish only (little detail) and it was rather funny than amazing, we got splashed a little with water, felt the wind and smelled the flowers, yeah.. and that's all:)

All in all, Stockholm was great, but we would need at least one or two more days to explore it fully, maybe next time..

Stockholm trip - Day 1

Brief introduction: weekend 21-22/4; ultimate goal (for me): to see the final games of Swedish Innebandy Elitserien in Globen Arena in Stockholm + some sightseeing to fill time:); 9 people; 2 cars (guess what, we really got one Ford Focus this time! Shocking..).

I planned to see the floorball finals since I came to Sweden.. I didn't expect to find more people who would join me, but surprisingly there are more floorball fans among international students than I thought! At the end we created floorball group (me, Honza, Lasse-FIN, Mathias-SUI, Matthias-SUI, Zuzka) and 'the others':) (Lenka, Chris-RSA, Egon-SVK-he came just for the second quarter of this semester).

Innebandy SM-final
The final matches took place in the magnificent Globen Arena for approx. 15 000 spectators. It was a great feeling to see it again after last year's World Championship! We saw both women (Rönnby-IKSU 4:3 after penalties) and men final (Warberg-Täby 5:3). Enjoy the pictures!

Rönnby - IKSU.

Warberg - Täby.

A view from the top.

Warberg celebrating with their fans!

Peter Sjögren. / Mathias Larsson.

Goodbye Globen.. Hopefully see you again;).

Pilsner.. / Swiss guys eating Czech-style!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Accomodation on the boat

After the match, we joined 'the others', who meanwhile visited museum of music. On Lenka's recommendation, we slept in great, cozy, wobbling but cheap accomodation at Gustaf af Klint boat - it was fun!
