Ice hockey SWE-CZE friendly

What a nice coincidence - just before the Euro Hockey Tour in Stockholm, the Czech national ice hockey team was invited for a friendly match against Sweden. Guess where - in Kinnarps Arena, Jönköping (Huskvarna, to be correct). We organized a great group of international student, most of them were persuaded to cheer for the Czech team.

What a nice coincidence - the guy on the very right is Ludek, who lives in Jönköping for some 20 years, he personally knows the two Czech players who play for Jönköping's HV71 (what a coincidence) - Hrdina and Balastik. We also met Mrs. Hrdinova and Mrs. Balastikova.

Even though we cheered for our heroes all the way, we stood by them when they needed us the most, we overshouted the silent swedish fans, they still lost 1:2 in the overtime.

Floorball: Järfälla IBK, Dalen IBK

15th league round: Järfälla IBK at home. A must-win match against the last team in the league -> 4:4..:) All the matches are really inscrutable (nevyzpytatelný), the outsiders often surprise the favourites, and that was the case that day. We equalized few minutes before the end, and with 2 seconds to go we had a breakaway with a guy just in front of the goalie, but the shot went wide.. I was happy that I played the whole match, but we badly needed the win..

For the 16th round of Elitserien, we travelled to Umeå, the home city of Dalen IBK. I was (un)lucky to experience the longest trip of the season - Umeå lies around 1000 km north of Jönköping! We left JKG Saturday early morning and came back on Monday morning, just to lose the match 3:4. I played only in the first period, and I didn't play well at all. But I enjoyed the match anyway, great hall, 1871 spectators, TV broadcasting and a lot of dramatic situations.



Unfortunately, these two results mean we trail the playoff spot already by 5 points, with 5 matches left to play.. Coming up: Storvreta, Balrog, Warberg, Pixbo and AIK - fatal combination:/ But the hope is still there..

There are several possibilities to swim in Jönköping. We already tried two of them. First we headed to Råslätt swimming pool (5-minute walk from our flat).
