At the beginning of March, we decided to undertake a private Czechoslovakian trip to Kiruna (the school association also organized official trips for students), a small town in the north of Sweden, behind the polar circle. There were several main goals: see the Ice Hotel, go for Wilderness Tour, see the northern light, teambuilding. Our team: me, Lenka, Sylva, Anicka, Evca, Zuzka, Mato.
We took a night bus to Stockholm, went for a should-have-been-short-but-was-longer-than-some-expected sightseeing walk in rainy and foggy Stockholm downtown and then took a flight to Kiruna.
Team. / Stockholm.

That guy didn't enjoy our waving to Kiruna fans and media who awaited us.

After succesful flight we took a taxi to the famous Ice Hotel. The hotel is made of ice and snow, every year with a new design of rooms. It was cold but cool there! No need for to much comments..
Outside the hotel. / Guided tour.

Find one person.

Inside of the hotel, there were several main halls with great architecture, common icerooms for guests, special designed icerooms and the Absolut Icebar.
Brilliant..

Car in the ice. / Lenca in the ice.

Icebar (Absolut Vodka in ice for 80 SEK). / A wedding took place that day in Icehotel.

After Ice Hotel, we accomodated ourselves in Kiruna cabins and went out to hunt the northern light (Aurora), even though the sky was completely cloudy.
Reindeers in open air! At least I thought for a while until we saw the fences..

We were walking in Kiruna neighbourhood for quite some time without any success, so we gave it up and just enjoyed the snow, but then suddenly... the northern light appeared!!

Well the picture is not 100% real, but who cares.. :)
This is how we finished our first day in Kiruna, we had to get some sleep for the wilderness tour the next day. To be continued...
